In the 1881 census there is a Samuel, William, Lizzie, and Mary Ann Chance all grandchildren, living next door to Harriet Chance and Edwin Peplow with Harriet's father, Benjamin Chance. (So is Edwin Peplow the father of Harriet's illegitimate children?????)
In 1891 Samuel Chance, William Chance and Eliza (Lizzie?)Chance are still living with Edward Peplow next door to their Grandfather, Benjamin, in Worcester Street. They are listed as Stepchildren.
In 1901 Edward Peplow is living at 101 court 38 Worcester Street aged 77 and a widower and Nailer. With him are William Chance, nephew, single, 26 a Nailer and Elizabeth Chance, niece, single, 23, Tailoress.
Is the William Chance mentioned here, the witness at the wedding of Benjamin Chance(9A1), Eliza's illegitimate son, to Mary Ann Lammas?
